One of nine victims in a crash into a potato patch, nine miles northeast of Presque Isle, Maine, near Fort Fairfield. The bomber lost control and crashed into a horse-drawn wagon, killing all five airmen aboard and four civilian farmhands, including a nine-year-old boy and his father.
