Mrs. Cecile Jacqueline "Jackie" Evans Carson, 79, of Brooks, Ga., passed away on Thursday, Jan. 13, 2011, at Piedmont Fayette Hospital.
Mrs. Carson was born in Brooks, Ga., on Oct. 29, 1931, to the late Aubrey Evans and the late Hazel Landers Evans. She was a retired school bus driver with the Griffin-Spalding County School System. Mrs. Carson was a member of the Brooks Baptist Church.
Mrs. Carson is survived by her husband of 57 years, Bobby K. Carson; daughter and son-in-law, Fran and Dale Nichols of Blairsville, Ga.; grandchildren, Dawn Rice of Commerce, Ga., Derick and Yvonne Rice of Blairsville, Ga.; great-grandchildren, Austin Beaver and Kayleigh Beaver; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services for Mrs. Jackie Carson will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 15, 2011, in the Chapel of Conner-Westbury Funeral Home. The Rev. Ed Lynch and Dr. Jack Landham will officiate. Interment will follow in Brooks Memory Gardens. Friends may visit the family from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
