US Congressman. He served in the Union Army during the Civil War as a Captain of Volunteers in the Army's Commissary Department, and was brevetted Major, US Volunteers. He was elected to represent Kansas as an At-Large Delegate to the United States House of Representatives, serving from 1873 to 1875.
