Janet was born on April 3, 1917 in Cherokee County, SC to the late W.T. Huskey Sr. and Eva Huskey. She was a homemaker and also worked for Cone Mills for several years. She was a dedicated and longtime member of Florence Baptist Church where she taught Sunday School in the children's department. She was also the treasurer of the Women's Auxiliary of the VFW for 18 years. She enjoyed quilting, watching golf, Atlanta Braves baseball and taking trips to Myrtle Beach.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 68 years, John V. Cantrell; four brothers, Troy Huskey, Wofford Huskey, Deaver Huskey and W.T. Huskey, Jr.
Survivors include her son, Robert Cantrell and wife, Christina of Greensboro and two sister in-laws, Virginia Huskey of Spartanburg and Cleo Huskey of North Wilkesboro, NC.
