Charlotte Jane Waterman was b 31 Jan 1845, North Haven, the d/o Samuel Carver & Betsy Calderwood. She d 3 June 1932, North Haven.

Charlotte married as the 2nd wife to Winthrop Orr Waterman on 14 Apr 1869, North Haven, married by Rev Zachariah Morton. She d 3 June 1932, North Haven. Winthrop had first married Charlotte's sister, Julia Etta Carver on 18 Oct 1863, North Haven, married by Capt John Wooster. Julia was b 19 Sept 1842, North Haven, also the d/o Samuel Carver & Betsy Calderwood. She d 14 Mar 1868, North Haven, from consumption (TB). They had one daughter: Lottie C Waterman, b 25 Dec 1864, North Haven - 25 Jan 1880, North Haven.

Winthrop & Charlotte had 8 children, all born North Haven.

From John Ferdinand Cooper's "Little Thoroughfare in the Old Days:" "The next home was the farm of Winthrop Waterman whose first wife was Julia Carver and for his second he married her sister Charlotte. There were three children by his second wife, but being of a younger generation I have forgotten their names." [He obviously forgot there were 8 children in all!]

Winthrop has a twin sister, Lizzie. Winthrop, Julia and Charlotte are buried in the Seaview Cemetery.

In 1860, 21-year-old Winthrop is living with his family on North Haven, working as a farm laborer.

In 1910, recently widowed 65-year-old Charlotte is residing with her son Frank & his family on North Haven. Charlotte cites she's had 9 children, 6 of whom were alive for the census.

In 1930, widow Charlotte is residing with her son Frank & his family. She is 85. Residing next door is Elizabeth (Carver) Spear, "foster" daughter of her brother, Cyrus Carver & his wife, Lucy (Beverage). .

She had been a resident of North Haven for life. She was born Jan 3, 1845 at North Haven, the daughter of Samuel Carver (born North Haven, farmer) and Betsey Calderwood (born Vinalhaven).
