John W. Hill, of Lipscomb, passed away Monday morning at the Claude Boone home in Lipscomb. The body was brought to the Stickley Funeral home in Canadian where it lay in state until Thursday when funeral services were held.
Mr. Hill was well known in Canadian having several relatives living here. He was a guest here recently in the Ben Hill home while receiving medical care. He was also related to the Tom Hill family.
Mr. Hill served in the European theatre during his three years of Army service. For the past year he had been undergoing treatment for cancer.
He is survived by his wife, and two children, LaVaughn and Lane, age four and two; by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Walter Hill, of Lipscomb, and by three brothers, two sisters and other relatives.
