He was a telecommunications engineer for Baptist Health Care Systems in Louisville, Kentucky and a member of Zoah Christian Church in Scottsburg, Indiana.
Survivors include his wife, Linda (Comer) Helton; two sons, Ryan H. (Barbie) Helton of Austin, Indiana and Michael S. Helton of Indianapolis, Indiana; a stepson, Devin Morris of San Marcos, Texas; a stepdaughter, Jessica Morris of Indianapolis, Indiana; three brothers, James E. Helton of Redmond, Washington, Robert E. Helton of Richmond, Virginia and Frank E. Helton of Scottsburg, Indiana.
