Benjamin "Curly" Hammons, 66, were held yesterday at 1 p.m. in the chapel of Richard A. Henry Funeral Home with burial in the Floral Lawn Memorial Gardens.
Mr. Hammons. died Thursday (August 9, 1990) in the Evergreen Manor in Battle Creek following an
extended illness.
Born June 30, 1924, in Livingston, he was the son of the late William Ervin and Ruth Marshall Bilbrey Hammons.
He retired in 1968 from Gage Printing Company after 15 years employment; he was an employee of Old American Legion Hospital in Battle Creek and a member of Oscar
Brady Post 298 of the American Legion. He served as a sergeant in the Army Air Corps from 1943-45, WW II and was stationed in Labinghan, England. He flew Ardennes Rhine-
lands in Central Europe.
His family includes his ex-wife, Reba E. Wilson of Battle Creek; two daughters, Brenda Joyce Moats of Diamond Bar, California, and Sharon Ruth Williams of Chillicothe,
Ohio; one brother, Harce "Gentry" Hamons of Battle Creek and four grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one son, Larry William Hammons in 1960.
