(1) 27 October 1850, Daviess Co., Mo., Sarah Jane Wood, b. 7 November 1833, Covington, Fountain Co., IN--d. 12 April 1857, Daviess Co., Mo., dau. of Joseph and Susan Emaline (Osborn) Wood.
They were married at the home of her parents and build a little house on 40 acres of land given them by her father, a part of the old homestead, 2 1/2 miles west of Winston.
He m. (2) 3 November 1858, Boone Co., Mo., by David Doyle, Baptist minister, to Mourning Martin, b.c. 1833--d. 30 September 1922, buried Fort Worth, Texas, dau. of James and Rachel (Davis) Martin. They moved to Arkansas for a time, and then in the spring of 1874 to Johnson Co., TX. November 1875 then went to Fort Worth, TX. At the time of death, her address was 1520 E. Hattie, Fort Worth, Texas; services were handled by Robertson, Mueller, Harper Funeral Home (1985 its address was 1500 8th Ave., Fort Worth Texas). She is buried next to her husband in Oakwood Cemetery, Fort Worth, TX.
