Son of John Henderson Voorhies and Sarah Susan Jewett Voorhies.

Husband of Margaret "Maggie" Huntzinger Voorhies, married June 22, 1886.

The following is from his obituary published in the Fairfield Daily Journal, Monday, December 8, 1913:

"....Frank entered the business life of Fairfield in 1879 when he opened a clothing and furnishing store on the south side of the square next to the First National Bank. He engaged in this business for ten years when he pruchased the F. B. Huntinger mill, which he has operated as the Home Roller mills ever since. Last October, on account of the health of Mrs. Voorhies, who has been an invalid for the past two years, Mr. Voorhies traded the mill for a fine farm near West Point, where they were to locate in the spring...."
