Merlin W. (Square) Clark, 67, of Pleasant Grove, died Tuesday, Jan. 28, in the American Fork Hospital of a heart attack.
He was born on April 12, 1918 in Heber City to Sylvester and Violet Elliott Clark. He married Leone Ford Dec. 14, 1945 in Salt Lake City. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple.
He was a member of the LDS Church living in the Pleasant Grove 5th Ward.
He attended schools in Heber City. He served in the Army during World War II.
He worked at Geneva Steel for 34 years and retired in January of 1981. His hobbies were fishing, golfing and bowling.
He is survived by his wife; two sons and two daughters: Mrs. Don K. (Sharon) Maxfield, Glenwood; Mrs. William (Karen) Morris, Payson; Ken F. Clark, Daniels; William Brent Clark, Pleasant Grove; 13 grandchildren; one great grandchild; two brothers: James B. Clark, Provo; DeVoe Clark, Salt Lake City. The funeral will be held Friday at 11 a.m. in the Pleasant Grove 5th Ward Chapel, 500 S. 200 East. Friends may call at the Olpin Family Mortuary, 500 S. 300 East, Pleasant Grove, Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. or Friday at the church one hour prior to services. Burial will be in the Pleasant Grove City Cemetery.
