Billy Frank Emerson, 85, of North Richland Hills went to be with the Lord on Sunday, Jan. 16, 2011, in Bedford, surrounded by family and friends. Funeral: 3:30 p.m. Thursday in Mount Olivet Funeral Home Chapel. Interment: Mount Olivet Cemetery. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Mount Olivet Funeral Home. Billy was born July 18, 1925, in Mansfield to Willie Drew and Frankie Ellen Rowden Emerson. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He was employed as a welder and retired from Freight Master. Billy was an avid fisherman and greatly enjoyed the outdoors. He was a very kindhearted and patient person, and was an active member of Hurst Christian Church since 1977. Billy was preceded in death by his mother and father, an infant child and one grandchild. Survivors: Wife of 33 years, Patricia "Pat" S. Emerson; daughters, Judith Ann Downs and husband, Phillip, of Sulphur Springs, Peggy Sue Lane of North Richland Hills, Patricia Lynn Emerson of Checotah, Okla., Charla Leigh Banegas and husband, Jose, of Watauga; sons, Stephen Charles Brown and wife, Tami, of Atlanta, Ga., Todd Randall Emerson of Galveston, Robert Bentley Emerson of Checotah, Okla.; 15 grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren.
