"Services for Johnnie V. Hanson, 88, lifetime resident of DeLeon, were held at 3:00 p.m. June 29th, at the DeLeon Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Cecil Harper officiating. Burial was in the Zion Hill Cemetery. Music was provided by Al Strasner, C. L. Mohon, Jr., Pet McClellan, Wayne Chambers, and Martha Bunting as organist. Pallbearers were DeLoyn Singleton, Norman Sides, Sherman Sides, Robert Rice, Troy Morrie, and Bascom Higginbottom. The daughter of John Calvin and Margaret E. McGuire Fritts was born April 21, 1901, in Comanche County. She was married to Judge Lindsay Hanson, on November 1, 1924. He prededed her in death Feb. 23, 1974. She was a Baptist and a homemaker. Survivors include two daughters, Tommye Maxine Nabors of Lake Proctor and Charlotte Higginbottom of DeLeon; two granddaughters, Vickie Pettit and Janet Higginbottom, both of Fort Worth; and a grandson, Fred Ray Nabors."
