Services for Anna Marie Dusing, 91 of La Junta, will be at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Dec. 20, at the Peacock Memorial Chapel. Interment will follow in the Fairview Cemetery. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Friday at Peacock-Larsen Funeral Home. She died Dec. 16, 2003.

Mrs. Dusing was born Jan. 25, 1912 in Rocky Ford to Frederick and Eva Katherine (Kindsvater) Freidenberger. She married Peter Lockwood Dusing on Dec. 27, 1935 in La Junta. Anna grew up and attended school at Fort Bent School. She and her husband Pete made their home in North La Junta for many years. Her life was devoted to loving and nurturing of her many nieces and nephews, helping raise several to adulthood as well as opening her home to friends and family alike. She was deeply loved and will be forever remembered and sorely missed. She was a lifetime member of the First Presbyterian Church, a member of the Germans from Russia Society and the American Historical Society of Germans from Russia. For many years she baked cakes for the VFW Auxiliary for the Fort Lyon VA patients.

She is survived by sister-in-law Anna M. Freidenberger of Rocky Ford, nephews Leonard Gilland of Stuarts Draft, Va., John Gilland of Citrus Heights, Calif., Sam Gerlock of Pueblo, Fred L. Freidenberger and Jacob Freidenberger, both of La Junta, George Freidenberger of Idaho Falls, Iowa, John B. Freidenberger of Tulsa, Okla., William Freidenberger of Colorado Springs, Fred E. Freidenberger of Fort Morgan, Peter Freidenberger of La Cresenta, Calif., Franklin Freidenberger of Rocky Ford, nieces Katie Lutz of Lamar, Anna Leonard and Becky Freidenberger, both of La Junta, Marguerite Fancher of Pueblo, Cathy Groves of Manzanola, Paula Jacobson of Portland, Ore., Joann Scarlett of Madras, Ore., Donna Ebright of Denver, 240 great and great-great nieces and nephews as well as numerous great-great-great nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and 14 brothers and sisters.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Associated Charities for Christmas gifts for children or to the Autistic Childrens Fund through Peacock-Larsen.
