Funeral services were held on Tuesday afternoon in the Mahlum and Anderson chapel for William Arnfelt, 78. Mr. Arnfelt, a resident of Estherville for the past 21 years, died Saturday [December 23, 1939] afternoon following a lengthy illness.
The Rev. F.W. Ortmeyer officiated at the service. Burial was in the Oak Hill cemetery.
At the time of his death Mr. Arnfelt was living in a room in the Mrs. Mary Nelson home. He is survived by one brother, H.G. Arnfelt of Minneapolis and a niece, Miss Lulu Bright of Estherville. His wife preceded him in death in 1913. Before moving to Estherville he was engaged in farming near Mount Pulaske, Ill. (Vindicator and Republican, Estherville, IA, December 28, 1939)
