He was a retired chef and an U.S. Army Veteran.
He is survived by six daughters, Betty Basnett of Van Buren, Lori Carter of Woodland, CA, Joni Dabkunk of Dixon, CA, Evie Doupe of Citrus Heights, CA, Sandy Tafoya and Teresa Vandergriff both of CA; one son, Christopher Furry of the U.S. Army in Woodland, CA; one sister, Venesa Chamber of Cabot, AR; two brothers, Gary Parks of Alma and Larry Vandergriff; twelve grandchildren and several great grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Thursday January 20th 2011 at 10:00am at Ocker Chapel with Gary Parks officiating. Burial was at Fort Smith National Cemetery.
