LaVonne Klein was born Dec. 29, 1924, in Monticello, Minn. to Herbert and Ida (Pearson) Wildman. On May 4, 1946 she married John L. Klein, Jr. in St. Cloud. Following their marriage the couple resided in Sauk Centre. She had been employed by St. Cloud Hospital, Chick's Supper Club, 52 Club, Fingerhut, Animal Fair and the Corner Bar. Since 1994 she had resided in Pine Haven at Pine Villa Care Center in Melrose.
She was a member of St. Paul's Catholic Church, Christian Mothers, Paul F. Donart VFW Post 2853 Auxiliary and American Legion Post 67 Auxiliary.
She enjoyed gardening, bowling, crocheting, travel and playing cards.
Survivors include eight children, Tom (Evonne) Klein of Hoople, N. D., Dan (Char) Klein of Ramsey, Barb (Dave) Wiegers of Monticello, Sharon Klein and Dave (Bonnie) Klein, all of Shakopee, and Mickey Klein, Judy (Joe) Deters and Janelle (Scott) Polipnick, all of Sauk Centre; 19 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, John Klein, Jr. on March 19, 1996; son, Mark Klein on Dec. 1, 2003; brothers, Rollo and Darrel Wildman.
Serving as casket bearers were Trevor, Jared, Shawn and Jason Klein, Ben Deters and Jim Wiegers. Cross bearer was Natasha Polipnick, lectors were Trisha Deters and Melissa Robeck and gift bearers were Sharon and Mickey Klein. Honorary bearers were Susie, Tina, Pam, Gina, Shannon and Marissa Klein, DeAnn Heinen, Missy Robeck, Trisha and Lisa Deters, Miranda and Hannah Polipnick.
Arrangements were made with Patton-Schad Funeral & Cremation Services of Sauk Centre.
