Erling Hagen, 100, of Cumberland, died Friday, July 6, 2001 at Cumberland Extended Care Unit. He was born June 20, 1901 in Cumberland to Thomas and Pauline (Almlie) Hagen. He was married in Cumberland on June 10, 1931 to Gertrude Behne, who preceded him in death on August 21, 1993. He was also preceded in death by a son, Martin, five brothers and four sisters.

Erling operated a dairy farm in the Town of Cumberland most of his life. He was a longtime member of St. Paul Lutheran Church.

He is survived by one son, Kenneth (Marilyn) Hagen of Cumberland; two daughters: Loretta (Larry) Kummerfeldt of New Richmond, and Margaret (Duane) Jothen of Cashton; ten grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Cumberland, with Rev. Steve Miller officiating. Burial was in Lakeside Cemetery, Cumberland. Pallbearers were his grandchildren Bruce Kummerfeldt, Randy Kummerfeldt, Joel Hagen, Mark Jothen, Julie Kummerfeldt, Linda Jothen, Jean Jothen, Sarah Jothen, Bethine Ellie and Jolene Helbig. Arrangements were handled by Skinner Funeral Home of Cumberland.
