GOCHA, Mildred - Age 76, of East Jordan and formerly of Clio died on Sunday, January 16, 2011. She had worked at Flint Chevrolet Assembly. Funeral services Wednesday, January 19, 2011 at 11:00 a.m.. at the Penzien Funeral Homes, Inc. in East Jordan. Visitation Tuesday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. at the Penzien Funeral Homes, Inc. Mildred Gocha, 76, of East Jordan died on Sunday, January 16, 2011 at home in Echo Township.
She was born on March 14, 1934 in Flint, the daughter of Frank and Mae Stockinger. On September 22, 1949 in Flint, she married Dennis L. Gocha.
She lived in Clio until Dennis' retirement in 1972 and then moved to the East Jordan area.
She was a member of the East Jordan United Methodist Church. She enjoyed gardening, feeding wildlife and spending time with her family.
She is survived by two daughters, Barb (Paul) Burks of East Jordan and Cathy (Jerry) Kowalski of Atlanta; two sons, Dennis J. (Linda K.) Gocha of East Jordan and Korie Gocha of East Jordan; twelve grandchildren; seventeen great grandchildren; four great-great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Dennis L. Gocha, in 2009; her parents; one son, David Gocha in 2004; five sisters; six brothers; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, January 19, 2011 at 11:00 A.M. at the Penzien Funeral Homes, Inc. in East Jordan. Pastor Rap Posnik of the East Jordan United Methodist Church will officiate with interment at a later date in Dunsmore Cemetery, Echo Township, Antrim County, MI.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 2:00 to 4:00 and 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. at the Penzien Funeral Homes, Inc. in East Jordan. Memorials can be made to the Hospice of Northwest Michigan, 220 W. Garfield, Charlevoix, MI 49720.
