William H. Doerr, 89 loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather passed away at 10:40pm Saturday, March 28, 1998 at V.I.P. Manor.
He was born April 15, 1908, in Alton, a son of the late John George Sr. and Anna Marie Katherine "Mamie" (Vahle) Doerr.
He was a foreman at Olin Corp in the Analytical Lab for 40 years. He was an avid gardner and storyteller. He was a 50 year member of the Franklin Masonic Lodge in Alton.
He married the former Elsie F. Hancock and she preceded him in death in 1979.
He later married the former Keota E. Fraley in November 1979 and she survives.
Also surviving are three daughters, June Doerr Wright of Lawrence AZ; Betty Doerr Hollingsworth Kotval of Clearlake, CA; Billie Doerr Weigler of Clifton, TX; 11 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and one brother John H. Doerr of Alton.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Albert and Henry Doerr.
