He was born Nov. 19, 1921, in Anderson, the son of Phelitt Carroll and Zella Anna (Daily) Seal.
He was a lifelong resident of Anderson, and retired from Guide Lamp in 1965, after 30 years of employment.
William was a member of the UAW-CIO Local 663.
He enjoyed being with his grandchildren, and loved fishing and spending time at Lake Freeman.
He is survived by his son-in-law, Donald Clark, grandson, Matthew J. Clark, and granddaughter, Christine M. Allen, all of Anderson; and several nieces and nephews.
William was preceded in death by his wife of 68 years, Emma H. Carroll; his daughter, Sharon (Carroll) Clark; sister and brothers, Gladys Counts, John Carroll, Felix Carroll, L.B. Carroll and M.J. Carroll.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Brown-Butz-Diedring Funeral Home, 515 E. 53rd St., Anderson, with Brother Lance Stevens officiating. Entombment will be at East Maplewood Cemetery.
