Ralph J. Weisgram, 83, of Grand Forks, ND passed away peacefully on Thursday, December 7, 2006, in Altru Hospital, Grand Forks with his children, their spouses, and grandchildren by his side.

Ralph Joseph Weisgram was born in Isanti, MN on June 23, 1923, the son of Ignatz and Eva (Jackobson) Weisgram. In 1940, he began his printing career, working for the Tribune newspaper in Ipswich, SD. He entered the United States Army on March 26, 1943 at Fort Snelling, MN and was honorably discharged from military service on March 8, 1946 at Fort Leavenworth, KS.

On November 22, 1948, he married Teresa Welk in Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Aberdeen, SD. They moved to Grand Forks. In 1951, he began working for the University Of North Dakota and became part of the UND Press family and retired after 36 years as the Plant Manager. Teresa preceded him in death on March 16, 2003; celebrating 52 years of marriage. Ralph had many hobbies. He loved the outdoors; loved fishing and hunting and was an excellent woodworker and gardener. But mostly, he loved people and had many friends. He was active in the Knights of Columbus Council 1260, the St. Michael's Men's Club and St. Michael's Bridge Builders. He will be dearly missed by his family and friends.

He is survived by his children, Dave (Janet) Weisgram, Grand Forks, ND, Gloria Weisgram, Moorhead, MN, Jill (Joe) Ford, Grand Forks, ND, Gary (Rose) Weisgram, Alexandria, MN, Teresa (Don) McWilliams, Grand Forks, ND; grandchildren, John, Tera, Chris, JoJo, Kelly, Ashley, Lindsey, Mike, Casey and Ali; great grandchildren, Sidney, Olivia, Ava and Ross; a sister, Mildred Haux, Colorado and a brother, Richard (Billie) Weisgram, Austin, MN.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Teresa; a sister, Stella; brothers Leo, Milton, Danny and infant brother, Eddy.

Mass of Christian Burial: 10:30 a.m. Monday, December 11, 2006 in St. Michael's Catholic Church, Grand Forks, ND.

Visitation: 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday with a 4:00 p.m. vigil service and a 1:30 p.m. rosary service in Gregory J. Norman – Norman Funeral Home, So. Washington St., Grand Forks and one hour prior to the liturgy at the church on Monday.

Memorials: The Weisgram family request that memorials may be directed to St. Michael's Bridge Builders, 520 6th St. N, Grand Forks, ND 58203.

Military Honors: Members of the American Legion Post 157 and the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 3817, East Grand Forks, MN.
