Hannah Flower was the kinswoman of Margaret Whisson, latter who m. John Kingsbury at Assington in Suffolk, England on Mar. 8, 1618/19. Recent electronic compliations of the descendants of Lieut. Thomas Fuller call wife Hannah the kinswoman of Joseph Kingsbury of Dedham, Mass., the brother of John Kingsbury (the husband of Margaret Whisson). The following proves this an error and directs the reader to Hannah's principle familial relation.

John and Margaret Kingsbury arrived at Watertown, Mass. by 1635 and removed to Dedham by 1638. John Kingsbury and wife Margaret were both admitted to the Dedham church on Oct. 20, 1639. Joseph Kingsbury and his wife Millicent also arrived at Dedham by 1638 with Millicent admitted to the Dedham church prior to Apr. 24, 1639. Due to apprehensions regarding Joseph Kingsbury, he was not admitted to the church until Apr. 9, 1641. In the meantime, the church record includes the following entry:

• Hanna __ [Flower] ye kinswoman of our br: Kingsbury was allso received ye same day [Mar. 11, 1640-41].

The foregoing refers to John Kingsbury and wife Margaret, since Joseph Kingsbury had yet to be admitted to the church.

John Kingsbury died testate at Dedham Sept. 12, 1660. His will dated Dec. 1, 1659 named Hannah Flower's husband, Lieut. Thomas Fuller, his kinsman and appointed Thomas one of the executors of his will. John Kingsbury's wife Margaret died testate at Dedham, her will dated Jan. 9, 1660/1 proved May 20, 1662. Margaret's will appointed Thomas Fuller as the sole executor, called him her kinsman, and after certain legacies were paid left the remainder of the estate to Thomas Fuller and his wife Hannah, "my neare kinswoman," for the benefit of the Fuller children. Later in Lieut. Thomas Fuller's will of 1690, he mentions property received by his children from their aunt Margaret Kingsbury, and Thomas' children refer to Margaret Kingsbury as their "great aunt" in a 1703 division of land at Dedham.

On its face it would appear that Hannah (Flower) Fuller's principal familial relationship was with Margaret (Whisson) Kingsbury versus through the two Kingsbury brothers.

When Hannah Flower arrived in New England is unknown. As she was admitted to the Dedham Church in early March 1640/1, this indicates she was then at least 18 years of age, suggesting she was b. not later than early March 1622/3. She was undoubtedly b. in England, but where has not been found by the memorialist.

On Nov. 22, 1643 at Dedham, Mass., Hannah m. Thomas Fuller, s. of Ralph Fuller and Elizabeth Elliot, bapt. Jan. 20, 1619/20 at Redenhall in Norfolkshire, England. Hannah d. at Dedham Apr. 11, 1672. She and her husband had nine children at Dedham, who are outlined in their father's memorial.
