Obituary for Benjamin Butler Anderson, The Newton Press:
Benjamin Butler Anderson was born 12 Aug 1867, in Blount Co., Eastern Tennessee. He came to Illinois in 1869 with his parents, Samuel and Margaret Anderson, and lived in Cumberland County for two years before moving to Grove Township, Jasper County.
Here he made his home for more than 80 years where he was well known as Bud. On 16 Aug 1891, he married Minnie Ida Ebbert, who preceded him in death in Sep 1951, after celebrating their 60th wedding anniversary.
To this union were born six children, of whom five survive: Gracie Pearl (Mrs. Charles M. Strole) of Noble; Russell H. of Cleveland, OH; Ben T. of Collinsville; George W. of Atlanta, GA; and Coral Corrine (Mrs. Carl A. Mitchell) of Newton.
At the age of 86 years, 5 months and 1 day he passed from this life on 13 Jan 1954 at Olney.
