Marvin Lee Lundblade died Sept. 14, 2000, of leukemia at age 71. A
private memorial was held. Mr. Lundblade was born June 9, 1929, in
Jamestown, Kansas. He attended the University of Kansas. He moved to
the Portland area in the 1940s. He was a jazz guitarist and a music
teacher. He played in a jazz group in the 1950s and early 1960s around
the Portland area. He gave lessons and also was a salesman at Day
Music Company, Sherman Clay and Peterts.
He married Lois M. Sumner in 1975.
Survivors include his wife; daughters, Cinda Rogers and Sharon
Bergholzer; son Mark; stepsons Larry Locke, Roy Locke, Martin Locke,
and David Locke; stepdaughters Karen Jones and Susan Reynolds; sister
Helen Marcotte; 17 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
Disposition was by cremation. The family suggests remembrances to local
schools for music education. Arrangements were by Alpine Cremation and
Burial Services.
