Judy Lennon Ashby, 66, of Shakerag Community, died Thursday, October 22, 2009 at her residence. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, October 26, 2009 at Sardis Baptist Church with Revs. Dick Dickens, Olen Rivers and Bruce Richmond officiating. Interment will be in Duncan Cemetery under the direction of Crawford A. Crim Funeral Home in Henderson, Texas. Family will receive friends from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Sunday, October 25, 2009 at Crawford A. Crim Funeral Home. Mrs. Ashby was born Feb. 5, 1943 in Miller Grove Community in Hopkins County, Texas. Mrs. Ashby was an elementary school teacher, homemaker and member of Sardis Baptist Church in Shakerag Community. She was a loving Christian mother who was a faithful member of Sardis Baptist Church. Mrs. Ashby was preceded in death by her parents, Loyd and Margueritte Lennon, son Samuel Loyd Ashby, and sister Marjean Stotts. She is survived by her husband of 45 years, Sid Ashby of Shakerag; son, Trent Ashby and wife Nickie of Lufkin; three daughters, Mikyela Tedder and husband Mark of Tyler, Mardra Ashby of Shakerag and Emily Whitworth and husband Bennie of Shakerag; two brothers, Johnny Lennon and wife Kathy of Miller Grover and Rex Lennon of Miller Grove; four grandchildren, which were the joy of her life, Garin Ashby, Grant Ashby, Macy Tedder and Brady Whitworth; and a host of family and friends. Pallbearers are Tim Wilson, Loyd Allen Lennon, Hal Martin, Kenneth Gladden, Freddy Stotts, Dr. Mike Ward, Henry Hart Jr. and Aremundo Garcia. Honorary pallbearers are Deacons of Sardis Baptist Church, Buddy Bankhead, Trenton Jones and Rhonda Stanfield.
