DONNELLSON Mrs. Mary Anna Bentzinger, 87, died at her home in Donnellson at 2 p. m. Dec. 20, 1954. Death terminated a long period of declining health.
Mrs. Bentzinger was a life resident of Lee county. She was the daughter of George and Katherine Spiesz Kirchner, and was born near Donnellson on Feb. 5, 1867.
On March 21, 1887, she was married to John Bentzinger, who died Jan. 28, 1948. They lived near Franklin for several years, then near Prmirose, moving to Donnellson in 1917.
Mrs. Bentzinger was a member of St. Paul Evangelical & Reformed church. She is survived by two sons and a daughter: Charles and Edward Bentzinger and Mrs. Louise Abel, all of Donnellson; two sisters: Mrs. Elizabeth Neumann, Kahoka, Mo., and Mrs. Katherine Bentzinger, Cedar Rapids; three grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Two brothers, Charles and Henry Kirchner, and a sister, Mrs. William Bentzinger, died previously.
Last rites will be held Wednesday afternoon. A prayer service for relatives will be held at the Miller funeral home at 1:30 and a public service will be held at two o'clock at St. Paul church. The Rev. J. Sherrill Gohde will officiate,
and burial will be in the Evangelical cemetery.
The body will be taken to the church from the funeral home at noon on Wednesday.
