Leslie K. "Les" Beck, 60 of Markle passed away at 9:11 a.m. on Monday, August 11, 2008 at Lutheran Hospital.

Les was a life long farmer in the Markle area. He also worked at Franklin Electric in Bluffton from 1966-1979 and also was a milk truck driver for many years for Ralph Gerber, Tim Becher and John Lantz. He did additional truck driving for Jerry Hite. Most recently he had been working with the Town of Zanesville maintenance department. He also delivered flowers for his daughter's flower shop, Tender Gardens of Markle and Ossian. He was a 1966 graduate of Lancaster Central High School in Wells County. He served in the United States Army from 1968-1970. He enjoyed driving and collecting John Deere tractors.

He was born on March 3, 1948 in Wells County, a son of Louis R. and Frieda J. (Rohrabaugh) Beck. He was united in marriage to Linda B. Bonner on April 27, 1969 at the Markle United Methodist Church.

Survivors include his wife: Linda B. Beck of Markle, a daughter: Teresa Beck of Markle, two brothers: Jim and wife Carolyn Beck of Fort Wayne, Ron Beck of Bluffton, parent-in-laws: Carl and Imagean Bonner of Markle. He was preceded in death by his parents: Louis R. and Frieda J. Beck and an infant brother: Roger Beck.

Visitation will be held on Friday, August 15, 2008 from 2:00-4:00 & 6:00-8:00 p.m. at the Myers Funeral Home Markle Chapel, 415 N. Lee Street, Markle, Indiana. Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 16, 2008 with one hour of visitation prior to the service at the Myers Funeral Home Markle Chapel with Pastor Kathie Jones officiating. Interment will be at the Markle Cemetery.

Preferred memorials are to Helping Paws Pet Haven or to American Diabetes Association both in care of Myers Funeral Home, P.O. Box 403, Markle, IN 46770.
