OAKBORO- Julius Eugene Burris, 77, 18477 Gaddis Road, died Saturday (July 31, 1999) at Presbyterian Hospital.

Born Nov. 28, 1921, Mr. Burris was the son of the late Ephriam Eugene Burris and the late Essie Mae Hinson Burris.

A World War II Army veteran, Burris was a retired fork lift operator at C & A in Albemarle.

Survivors include wife Jewell Louise Efird Burris; sons Julius E. "Buster" Burris, Locust, Boyd Burris, Oakboro, Blaine Burris, Kannapolis; daughters Barbara Coley and Brenda Davis, both of Albemarle; brothers Carl Burris and Grant Burris, both of Oakboro; sisters Margaret Curlee, Charlotte, Sarah Davis and Marene Burris, both of Asheboro, and Rosa Gene Barbee, Oakboro; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Services: Graveside, 2 p.m. Monday, Bear Creek Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery, Albemarle, with Military Rites by Stanly County DAV.

Visitation: 6-8 p.m. today, Hartsell Funeral Home of Albemarle. At other times, the family will be at the residence.

Memorials: Hospice of Stanly County, 960 N. First St., Albemarle, N.C. 28001.
