Delores Winifred Howard Dodson, 80, of Chattanooga, passed away Tuesday, Jan. 11, 2011. A lifelong resident of the North Georgia area, she was a Veteran of the U.S. Air Force, a former employee of Superior Catering Service and was a member of Chattanooga Valley Baptist Church.

She is preceded in death by her husband, James Dodson and parents, Bassil Larry and Louise Williams Howard.

She is survived by three sons and daughters-in-law, Edwin "Ed" and Rosemary Jolly, of Menlo, Ga., Guy Jolly, of Flintstone, Ga., and Marion and Teresa Howard, of Flintstone, Ga.; brother; Larry Howard, of Flintstone, Ga.; four sisters, Glenda Eldridge, Jane Groce, Doris Everett and Rita Bean, all of Flintstone, Ga.; three grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home with the Rev. Billy Jacks and the Rev. Ronnie Fleming officiating. Interment will follow at Chattanooga National Cemetery. The family will receive friends today from 3-9 p.m., all day Monday and Tuesday until funeral time at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, the family ask that donations be made to the funeral home for funeral expenses.
