He was the husband of Helen G. (Timmins) Laforge, with whom he celebrated his 53rd anniversary on November 26th. He was the son of the late Elphege and Marie (Ducharme) Laforge. He received his education in Lowell schools, and was a graduate of Lowell High School, class of 1950.
An honorably discharged veteran, he served his country in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict.
Prior to his retirement, he was employed by Office Environment.
He loved all sports, and was president of the Tyngsboro High School Booster Club for 10 years. He was inducted into the Tyngsboro High School Hall of Fame in 2004.
Besides his wife, he is survived by five sons, Stephen Laforge of Merrimack, NH, Daniel Laforge of Cypress, Texas, Brian Laforge and his wife, Jodie of Tyngsboro, Edward Laforge and his wife, Karen of Tyngsboro, and Paul Laforge and his wife, Lori of Nashua, NH; four daughters, Cherly Laforge of Tyngsboro, Audrey Laforge and her husband, Francis Leazes of Providence, RI, Martha and her husband, Michael Howes of Hudson, NH, and Elizabeth Laforge and her companion, Steven Hayden of Las Vegas, NV; 21 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; as well as many nieces and nephews. He was also the brother of the late Rita Demers, Philip Laforge, George Laforge, Raymond Laforge, and Ernest Laforge.
