Mrs. Ethel (Herman) Zuercher

Daughter of Arthur and Lettie Hermen was born December 1, 1915, on a farm near Volga, Iowa.

Her entire life was spent around the Elgin and Volga areas with the exceptions of a few years when she lived at Otterville and Waterloo, Iowa.

She received her education in a rural school in Highland township and graduated from the Elgin High School.

On October 25, 1941, she was united in marriage to Louie Zuercher.

She ubmitted to major surgery at Iowa City in January 1967 and died Monday, August 25, at the Postville Hospital following a lingering illness.

She was preceded in death by her parents; also her husband, Louie, who died suddenly September 7, 1967 at Clayton, Iowa.


Survivors include two sisters, Mrs. Lester Chase, Volga, Mrs. Oliver Heins, Oelwein; two brothers, Harold, Sterling, Colorado, and James, Elgin.

Funeral services were held Thursday, August 28, 1969, at the Lutheran Church, Volga, with Rev. Andrew Olsen officiating.

Internment was made at the Taylorsville Cemetery, near Arlington. Pallbearers were: Elmer Chase, Ross Ridenour, William Wilker, George Miller, H.H. Eder and Robert Garms.

CARD OF THANKS - We wish to thank all our neighbors, friends and relatives who sent money, cards, food and flowers and expressed their sympathy and offered their assistance after the death of our sister, Ethel
Zuercher. All these acts of kindness were sincerly appreciated. Mr. and Mrs. Lester Chase, Mr. and Mrs. Oliver Heins, Mr. and Mrs. Harold Hermen, and Mr. and Mrs. James Hermen.
