HAROLD (HARRY) COLEMAN
November 9, 1943-April 20, 2009

Harold (Harry) Coleman passed away peacefully Monday morning, April 20, 2009, at home with his loving wife at his side. A constant shining witness of God's love and grace, he courageously fought Burkitt's Lymphoma for the past eight months.

Harry was born November 9, 1943, to Harvey and Evelyn Coleman in Seattle, Washington. Harry grew up in the Seattle area, graduating from Renton High School. He attended Graceland College in Lamoni, Iowa for his first two years of college. He continued his education at the University of Washington, where he graduated with his Bachelor of Science degree in Forestry. On January 28, 1967, Harry married his sweetheart, Sue (Goodman), in Oklahoma City. They spent the majority of their life together (32 years) in Eugene, Oregon, where he retired from Rosboro Lumber Company in nearby Springfield, Oregon in 2006. Upon retirement, Harry and Sue moved to Crooked River Ranch, Oregon where they built his dream home.

Harry is survived by Sue (his beautiful devoted wife of 42 years and their two children Jon and Tina. Jon and his fiance, Rebecca, reside in New York. Tina resides with her husband Nate and three children, Ava, Eli and Ian in California. Harry is also survived by his brother Roy Coleman and wife Anna of Seattle, Washington and his sister, Suzanne Coleman of Key West, Florida. Numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews survive him as well.

A member of the Community of Christ, Harry held the office of Elder. He contributed many years to youth ministry and had a passion for organizing and leading the drama ministry in the Eugene and Redmond, Oregon congregations. Harry was known for his passion, tenacity and wry humor. An avid golfer, he enjoyed the camaraderie of his many golfing buddies. His handcrafted banjo provided Harry many hours of Pleasure and relaxation. His ultimate passion and enjoyment was being with his family and granchildren.

From a written testimony before his passing, Harry wrote the following conclusion . . . "My prayer for all God's people is that we may all come to comprehend the love God offers to each one of us and that we may embrace that love."

The family appreciates your continued prayers and support and requests that in lieu of flowers, memorials in honor of Harry Coleman be made to one of the following organizations:
