James Derrell Ferguson, 95, of Spartanburg, died Thursday, January 13, 2011 at Kings Mountain Hospice House. Born June 26, 1915 in Due West, SC, he was the son of the late Luicius Hampton and Eudora Branyon Ferguson and husband of the late Mildred Webb Ferguson.
Mr. Ferguson was a veteran of the U.S. Army. He was a member of St. Paul United Methodist Church where he was a member of the United Methodist Men. He also volunteered with Mobile Meals and was a former Milliken employee.
Survivors include a son, Dick Ferguson and his wife Rita of Kings Mountain, NC; two grandsons, Webb Ferguson of Gastonia, NC, and Keith Ferguson and his wife Helena of Columbia, SC; and a great-grandson, Jasper Ferguson of Columbia, SC. He was predeceased by a sister, Frances Langley; and a brother, Robert Cassell Ferguson.
Visitation will be 2:00 PM until 2:45 PM Monday, January 17, 2011 at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel. Funeral services will follow at 3:00 PM in the Chapel, conducted by Rev. Frank E. Lybrand. Burial will be in Greenlawn memorial Gardens.
