Lela E. Brents, age 90, of Benton, passed away Friday, January 14, 2011. She was born February 10, 1920, in Springfield, Missouri. Mrs. Brents was a homemaker and of the Baptist faith. She was preceded in death by her parents, Ollie and Elsie Scroggins; husband, L. O. "Buck" Brents; five brothers, Franklin, Floyd, Wilburn, A.Z. and Roy Scroggins; three sisters, Louella Dahn, Retha Blaylock and Arvilla Schimmel; two sons-in-law, Denny Griffin and Donnie May and a sister-in-law, Vada Scroggins.

Graveside services will be 10:00 Monday, January 17 at New Rosemont Cemetery.

Family Comments: The family would like to give a special thanks to Saline Memorial Hospice. Mrs. Brents loved her grandchildren and working in her garden and yard. (from Ashby Funeral Home online obituary)
