Ann Morrison, 85, a former resident of Fredonia and Altoona, died Wednesday, January 12, 2011 at Lakepoint of Augusta. She was born June 26, 1925 in Crescent, Oklahoma, the daughter of George and Lida (Coots) Norris.

On September 30, 1944 in Yates Center, Ann married Orville E. Morrison. They were happily married for 57 years until his death on March 19, 2002.

Ann was retired from Altoona Midway Schools, where she was a secretary for many years.

She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Fredonia and very active with the Fredonia Regional Hospital Auxiliary.

Ann is survived by:

Two nieces:

Linda Kitch of Augusta, Kansas

Laurie Houdashelt of Fredonia, Kansas

One nephew:

Tom Norris of Ft. Scott, Kansas

She was preceded in death by her parents, and three brothers, Sam, Roy, and George Norris.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M., Saturday, January 15, 2011 at Timmons Chapel with Rev. Charlotte Coates of the First United Methodist Church officiating.

Burial will be in the Altoona Cemetery.

A memorial has been established in Ann's name with the Fredonia Regional Hospital Auxiliary and can be sent to Timmons Funeral Home.
