1943 - 2011

Bobby Jake Kennedy, ae 67, of Olive Hill, Kentucky passed away Friday evening, January 14, 2011, at his home after an extended illness.

He was born in Carter County, Kentucky on February 13, 1943, the son of the late Estill Kennedy and Hazel Swinford Kennedy.

Besides his parents he was preceded in death by a sister, LaVona June Kennedy.

Bobby was a retired diesel mechanic, U.S. Army veteran, former member of the NRA and enjoyed Nascar. He was an avid Dale Earnhardt fan and was of the Wesleyan faith.

Survivors include his companion Suzie Brickles of Olive Hill, one son, Bobby Jake Kennedy of Powder Springs, Georgia, two step-sons, Danny Kennedy and Dennis Kennedy of Woodstock, Georgia, two step-daughters, Lisa Kern and Margaret Childress both of Oakwood, Virginia, two sisters, Wanda Parker of Morehead and Garnet Williams of Grayson. four brothers, Charles Kennedy of Klamath Falls, Oregon, Vernon Kennedy of Prattville, Alabama, Billy Kennedy and Darrell Kennedy both of Grayson, Kentucky, two grandchildren, nine step-grandchildren, two step-great-grandchildren and several nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

Funeral servcies will be conducted 11 a.m. Tuesday in the chapel of the Lane-Stucky-Gray Funeral Home, with Rev. Allen Wells and Rev. Mike Clark officiating. Burial will follow in the Brown Cemetery. Full military rites will be conducted at the graveside by the Morehead American Legion Post No. 126.

Visitation at the funeral home is after 5:00 p.m. Monday.
