He was born Nov. 12, 1912, in Bluesfield, W.Va. He lived in Buffalo, N.Y. before moving to Akron. He came to Lorain in 1945.

Blake retired from Ford Motor Company, Lorain, after 30 years, in 1975. He enjoyed bowling and horses.

Survivors include his wife of 29 years, Clarissa Blake of Laurel; daughter, Monique Clayton of Cleveland; sons Carmen Kimbrough, William Blake Jr., Emmett Clayton and George Blake, all of Lorain, Benarnd Clayton of Elyria, Eric Clayton of Laurel and Cornelius Blake of Colorado; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews.

Friends may call Friday from 2 to 6 p.m. at the Brown-Robinson Funeral Home, 2652 Broadway, Lorain, where services will be Saturday at 10:30 a.m. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery, Lorain
