He was born in South Carolina and lived in Lorain all of his life.
He attended Admiral King High School and was employed as a truck driver for many years.
Mr. Calhoun was a boxer for the Lorain Golden Gloves, where he won many awards. He enjoyed playing cards and was an avid baseball fan.
Survivors include his fiancee, Vanessa Garrett of Lorain; daughter, Wanda Guice of Baltimore, Md.; sons, Anthony Calhoun of Cleveland, Derrick Calhoun of Louisville, Ky., Bobby Lee Calhoun Jr. of Pontiac, Mich., and Darlyn Calhoun of Washington, D.C.; mother, Thelma ''Swinger'' Calhoun of Elyria; father Leroy Calhoun of Lorain; brothers Gregory Calhoun of Atlanta, Ga., Dennis and Brian Calhoun, both of Lorain, and Kevin Calhoun of Cumbering, Md.; and many grandchildren and other relatives.
Friends may call Wednesday from 11 a.m. until time of service at noon at the Carter Funeral Home, 3001 Elyria Ave., Lorain, and in the home of his brother Brian at 1220 Parkway Drive, Lorain. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery, Lorain.
