There he joined the English Army as a private and at the close of the War came out with a Captain's Commission and was granted 200 acres of land in the Township of Sutton. (Listed in Letters Patent, 29 Mar. 1802). This lot was above Thibault's Place eastward, and here he lived and died. Male children were William, Hugh, Stephen, John and James.
