Services for Robert Vess Lowrance, 83, Sulphur, are 2 p.m. Friday at Clagg Funeral Home Chapel. Burial follows at Lowrance Cemetery.

Mr. Lowrance died March 4, 1992, at Sulphur. He was born March 13, 1908 at Buckhorn to Oscar and Mattie E. Sapp Lowrance Jr. He lived in the Sulphur area all his life, graduating from Sulphur High School in 1926. He attended the University of Oklahoma until 1930. He worked as an inspector of munition plants during World War II and after the war, he was employed by the Oklahoma State Highway Department. Later he worked as an undersheriff and deputy sheriff in Murray County.

He was a retired deputy sheriff and cattle and dairy farmer and a member of the Cumberland Presbyterian Church. He was past president of Sulphur Round Up Club.

Survivors include three daughters, Virginia Ann Hine, Bobbie Sue Lowrance and Anita Kay Lowrance; one son, Robert B. Lowrance; two brothers, Oscar K. Lowrance Jr., and Charles O. Lowrance, both of Sulphur; one sister, Eleanor Patton, Sulphur; and several grandchildren.
