Jewell Marie Smith, 75, of Ripley, died Saturday, January 1, 2000. She was a Baptist and was a homemaker. Her parents were the late Ike and Ludie Hathcock Thomas.
Services were Monday, January 3, 2000, at 1 pm at Ripley Funeral Home Chapel with burial in Little Brown Baptist Church Cemetery at Booneville. Rev. Lyndle Davis and Rev. Spurgeon Mullikin were the officiating ministers. Ripley Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
Survivors include her husband Eugene Smith, Ripley; three sons Cecil Winkles, Larry Winkles, Jackie Smith all of Ripley; three daughters, Hazel Eaton, Ripley, Gail Spencer, Walnut and Peggy Herman, Dumas; two brothers, J. C. Thomas and Luther Thomas, both of Vidalia, LS; one sister, Francis Edrige, McComb; 16 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Jackie Eaton, Jimmy Eaton, Sonny Reed, Bobby Herman, and Robbie Herman.
