She was a lifelong resident of Lorain and graduated from Lorain High School.
Mrs. Dalton was employed as a receptionist by the Lorain Metropolitan Housing Authority. She was well known as a seamstress and had also worked in other jobs.
She was a member for 23 years of Cathedral of Praise, Lorain, where she served as treasurer of the Sunday School. She was a charter member of Chapel of the Redeemer (Cathedral of Praise, Worship and Family Center), received a Visitor Soul Olympics certificate in May 2007 and was a member of the kitchen committee. She enjoyed sewing, cooking, shopping and travel.
Survivors include her daughters Delphenia D. Guice and Eva M. Dalton-Davis, both of Lorain, and Arethea A. Dalton-Howard of Akron; sons Ivan M. Guice, Hugh Dalton and Hugo Dalton, all of Elyria; sisters Cynthia Lois Guice and Betty Jamerson, both of Lorain; brothers Alfred Guice and Albert ''Bud'' Guice, both of Lorain; and 25 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Louise and Alonzo Guice Sr.; son, Alonzo ''Sonny'' Guice Jr.; and her grandmothers Equilla Clayton, Iris Atkinson and Irene.
Friends may call Saturday from 10 a.m. until time of service at 11 a.m. at Cathedral Of Praise, Worship and Family Center, 4545 Elyria Ave. Elder Melvin Brown, pastor, will officiate. Burial will follow in Elmwood Cemetery, Lorain.
