She was the second child of Edward Stillman Kendrick and Caroline Ackerman. She was of Russian and Dutch descent.
She inherited musical talent from her mother and was a soloist at the "Church of the Transfiguration" in Providence, Rhode Island.
She married William Eddy on 23 Dec 1899 at the Naval Home in Philadelphia. Their only son was the singing star, Nelson Eddy.
She died at the age of seventy-six and is buried next to her son and daughter-in-law.
