Sarah Ann Truitt was born 23 Feb 1832, possibly in Smith County, Tennessee. She is the daughter of John Wingate Truitt and Elizabeth J Robinson. Her father moved to Red River County, Texas by 1840, building a home in Titus and then Morris County, Texas. Sarah married Andrew Richey about 1854 in Upshur County, TX. The county courthouse burned and there is no record of their marriage. They moved to Hopkins County by 1870. They had six children: Charles W Richey, E. T. Richey, James Albert Richey, Nancy Ann Richey, Andrew M Richey and Joseph Perry Richey, all born in Pine Forest, Hopkins County, Texas. Sarah died 28 Dec 1878 and is buried in Pine Forest Cemetery.
