She was born August 19, 1931 to Thelma Bangerter and Russell Nielsen and later adopted by William Lake. She married her high school sweetheart, E. Wheeler Oliphant, on July 23, 1951 in the Logan Temple.
She was the mother of seven children: Karen (Brig) LeSueur, Idaho Falls, ID; Neil, Salt Lake City; Stanton (Lori), Sandy; Arden, St. George; Brent (Lisa), Salt Lake City; Douglas (Sue Anne), Sandy. Preceded in death by son, Blair; husband, Wheeler, in October 2009.
Carole was a loving wife and dedicated mother. She served as ward Relief Society President, Cub Scout Den Mother, ordinance worker in the Salt Lake Temple, and a mission with her husband to the Salt Lake Central City mission. She was a very fine seamstress, a wonderful cook and worked hard along side her husband in his many entrepreneurial ventures. Her organizational skills are legendary. She always worked at being a wonderful grandmother! Carole has twenty-eight grandchildren (three serving LDS missions) and seventeen great-grandchildren.
Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, March 20, 2010 at 12:00 p.m. in the Valley View Stake Center, 2245 East 3900 South, where friends and family may visit from 10:00-11:30 a.m. prior to the services.
Interment: Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park.
