William Paul Hunold was born 31 August 1941 in Ft. Madison Iowa and was baptized in St. James Church, St. Paul, Iowa
In 1960 "Bill" joined the US Army in which he served for 12 years. His separation was in San Francisco, California on 17 September, 1973
In September, 1967 he married Delleen Marie Hitchman in Reno, Nevada.
To this union were born 4 children:
Dwayne William b Bremerhaven, W Germany
LaDean Lorena b San Francisco, California
Tammi Maria b San Francisco, California
Kari Pauline b Portland, Oregon
Upon "Bill's" separation from the US Army the family moved to Portland, Oregon where they lived at 2906 SE 90th Place.
He adopted Delleen's daughter by a previous relationship, Lauretta Inez Webster/Hunold
"Bill" worked for a short period of time welding for a trailer rental business and then went to work for Multnomah County
He was divorced from Delleen in 1979 and lived in Portland for a brief time following that.
He then moved to Iowa where he married Maggie Beasley. This marriage did not last long.
He then met Gwendolyn Lue Cahill Mather. He and Gwen moved to Florida where they married.
Bill and Gwen were divorced and Bill lived the rest of his life in Ocala, Florida.
Cancer took his life early in the morning 13 July 2001.
He was buried 3 August 2001 in the Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, Florida.
We have recently learned that Bill had requested compensation for exposure to "Agent Orange" while he served in Viet Nam. It may be that he did lay down his life for his country. This remains to be explored.
