Obituary:
Walter Uhl, a life-long resident of the Brooklyn community, died Sunday morning at the Clausen rest home in Iowa City where he had lived the past year. He was 89 years old.
Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon at two o'clock at Bramer's funeral home in charge of the Rev. Deardorff of Panora, former pastor of the Church of the Brethren of Brooklyn. Mrs. Fred Bartachek was organist.
Interment was in I.O.O.F. cemetery with Robert Willliams, Ray Robey, Ross McCulla, John McGrory, Fred Willett and Clair Meyer serving as pallbearers.....

Charles, the son of Walter and Minnie Uhl, was born in Brooklyn Nov 20, 1894, and he died Dec. 24, 1958. He attended Brooklyn High School and Mt. Morrison Academy in Illinois. He had lived in Brooklyn until four years ago, when he and his wife moved to Cedar Rapids.
