Jack graduated from Ritenour Grade School in 1901, while the family was living in Olivette. He then took a job working at the Frisco Railroad. In 1907, his father took a job as traffic manager for the Parker Amusement Co. in Abilene Kansas. Jack and brother Joe spent the year traveling with the Company and operated the photographic concession. At the end of 1907, Jack went back to work at the Frisco railroad in St Louis.
During WWI, Jack served in the Army briefly, stationed at Fort Sill, Oklahoma, where his duty was outing soldiers. He was living in Muskogee, Oklahoma, in 1923, and still working for the Frisco. He had been married briefly after he got out of the Army. He married Mae Katherine Hines on 30 Dec 1926. Mae had a daughter, Margaret Lee by a prior relationship. He adopted Margaret Lee, and she took the name of Senne. Jack and Mae had no children of their own.
In 1934, Jack was out of a job and was in St Louis selling door-to-door gadgets for conserving gas on kitchen ranges. Jack and his family lived with brother Joe and family for a short time, and then he got a job with the Anderson Motor Freight Co. in Kansas City, Missouri. Later he was Chairman of the Standing Rate Committee in the legal department of the Middle West Freight Bureau. He started the Interstate Commerce Commission (ICC) following advent of trucks to interstate highway system.
He died on 14 Feb 1961 in St. Mary's Hospital, where he had been ill for five weeks with heart trouble. He was a member of the St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church.
Jack Senne was very well-loved and well-respected by all who knew him.
