Born in Midway, Miss., he was a resident of Willingboro.
Bennie was beloved husband of Christine S. (Morton) Stewart; dear father of James Stewart; stepfather of Hebrew J. Spain and LaReina Spain; brother of the late Annie Bell Cladney, Luvenia Mann, Quille Stewart, Lessel Maller and Icy Smith; stepgrandfather of eight; stepgreat-grandfather of three; and uncle to many nieces and nephews.
Bennie retired as a supervisor for Chrysler LLC of Auburn Hill, Miss.
After he retired and moved to Willingboro, he worked for the Burlington Township County School System.
He served our country in the U.S. Army during World War II, and received several medals in appreciation of his service.
His service in celebration of his life will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, at Martin Lutheran Chapel Church, Pennsauken, where friends may meet with his family beginning at 10 a.m. to reflect on his life. There will be no evening viewing. Interment will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday in the Chapel of the Brigadier General William C. Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 350 Provinceline Road, Wrightstown.
